2013: Bring on the New Year

2013 has been the most challenging and the most rewarding year so far. I cant believe how far I’ve come in the last year. With ups and downs and many emotional challenges, I am so proud to see my work today and am ecstatic to see where it goes this year. Here are some highlights over the last year in my business, my life, and of course some of my favorite images from 2013.

CreativeLIVE and ReSTARt
Almost a year later, I cant get over how this has changed my business and my life. Rebranding has been so vital to my business and helped me truly be my brand. Im so proud of my style, my product, my  logo, and I love how it expresses so much about me and my life.

Blog Published
It was a privilege to have several sessions featured on Forget Me Knot Inspirations, my favorite Alaskan wedding blog!

WPPI

I was so lucky to head to Vegas this year for this conference and with two of the most fabulous photographers I know! I met so many incredible people and learned from some of the best in the business. It was an awesome week and I hope I get the chance to go again sometime.

Photography Professionals

One of the amazing photographers who showed me Creative Live &Restart has been so essential to me this year. She has motivated me as a friend and as a fellow professional. It took me many years to find any photographers to communicate with, and Meggan has been such a great support in my business and in my photography. I absolutely adore her and and I am so glad to have her in my life!

New Camera

While it was one of the most stressful moments, I am so excited to have a new camera! After the death of my last camera (mere hours before a wedding, after my backup rental fell through and apparently the city of Portland had no cameras to rent! Talk about a crazy situation). It is a definite upgrade and the difference the new lens alone makes has me giddy for weddings this year!

The Seasons Spa and Salon

I was blessed this year to have found a second weekday job where I can freshen up my design and web skills. I love my job at the Seasons, and am so lucky to have a boss that supports my photography. It also gives me the chance to invest more into my business.

Surprise Proposal

I had the honor of recording an amazing flash mob proposal at the Oregon Zoo! Even featured it on the 5 o’clock news with my photographs! I love exciting new challenges and this was definitely on my bucket list!

Adopting Rico Suave
Kitty Rico holds my heart in his tiny paws. I am so glad David & I adopted him. He has brought us so much warmth and joy! Plus I have a new model – he looks very handsome when he poses.

2014 Goals
1. Be published on a national wedding blog. Style Me Pretty, Green Wedding Shoes, I'm coming for y'all!

2. Attend a photography workshop

3. Create at least 3 styled shoots

4. Photography a proposal (maybe this is just a dream, I'm still making it a goal!)

5. Book more fabulous weddings! All of the weddings I work with are of course Fabulous, but I have a number goal this year I truly hope to make!

As always, I'd love to say thank you to all of my clients. You have been so amazing this last year and I am so lucky to have worked with such wonderful and caring people. I can't wait to see where this next year takes me and to meet some new amazing clients. I hope you all had a wonderful and safe new year! Cheers to 2014!
